Normal to Want More

He had heard of a trick. Push a pencil though your hand, get control of your dream. He’d never had control before. So when he realized he was in a dream, he gave it a go. But the dream started controlling him. He froze up. And he shook with fear. Before long, he forced himself to wake up. And though he was still exhausted, he stayed awake.

This was the sort of thing that happened often. But only when he knew he was dreaming. A normal dream was just that: normal. A pleasant conversation with friends or a quiet evening at home. With just a dash of extraordinary.

But he kept trying. Trying to get control. He’d never had control before.
